Amberly Finarelli

AMBERLY FINARELLI combines her academic background, extensive knowledge of English literature, and a trained editor’s eye, to offer a diverse literary approach to her role as an agent.

Her dedication to both the story and to developing her authors’ careers makes Amberly an invaluable asset to writers seriously pursuing publication. She is currently looking for authors who are passionate about the craft and savvy in the field of professional writing.

Amberly works hard to create and maintain a productive yet supportive author-agent experience by helping her authors edit and chisel their manuscripts and proposals, and skillfully and knowledgeably guiding them through the process of becoming published.

She has worked in the book publishing and freelance writing business for over five years and joined Andrea Hurst Literary Management in 2008. Previously, she has worked as a manuscript evaluator, developmental editor, publisher’s assistant, copy editor, proofreader and freelance writer.

Amberly grew up surrounded by books and decided at a young age that she wanted to be a writer. Her childhood literary heroes were L. Frank Baum, Louisa May Alcott, Edward Eager, and Maud Hart Lovelace. She graduated magna cum laude in 2007 with a B.A. in English, with a Concentration in Career Writing. Her hero list has now expanded to include Jane Austen, Neil Gaiman, Diane Setterfield, Carlos Ruiz Zafon, Flannery O’Connor, John Irving, and F. Scott Fitzgerald
